If your skip will sit on a public road or pavement, you’ll need a council permit. We arrange the permit on your behalf — you just need to tell us when you book.
The process
What happens when you book.

You book
Tick the “permit required” box at checkout. We’ll need 3 working days’ notice.

We apply
We submit the permit and pay the council fee on your behalf.

Lights & cones
Your skip arrives with reflective markers and traffic cones, as required by the council.
- 04
You hire
Use the skip as normal. We collect on the agreed date.
Charged at booking when a permit is needed.

- Do I need a permit if it’s on my driveway?
- No — only if any part of the skip is on a public road, pavement or verge.
- How long is the permit valid?
- Typically 14 days. We can extend if you need longer.
- What does the council fee include?
- The right to occupy the highway, our admin time and the supply of cones and lights.
